Nastar Monk Statue

Description

Statue of a Nastar monk.

We have no detailed description of Nastar and his followers in the Mágus lore, but we do know that Tiadlan is a place where eastern and western religions and philosophies collide. Since Nastar is also known as the Teacher, it is implicated that his religion is similar to Buddhism. To illustrate the western influence I used a stock photo of a Greco-Buddhist statue (namely this one). The theme is obviously Buddhist, but the body proportions are more realistic than usual, the large halo and the portrayal of the hair follows the Greek style.

I also placed the golden disk -- the sacred symbol of Nastar -- where the third eye or bindu should be. The idea behind this is that the Nastar monks wear their sacred symbol on their forehead either on a hippie-like headband or as a painted yellow/golden dot (the gold paint means they have strong connections with the merchant families and the idea was influenced by some extravagant makeups from the seventies).
